Social media platforms allow nearly anyone to post information online, and there are very few safeguards to ensure that information on social media platforms is correct or that the evidence provided to support claims is sound. This lesson introduces students to evaluating evidence on social media platforms and provides students with opportunities to evaluate evidence posted on Facebook and Twitter.

Although this lesson can be taught in a variety of subject areas, it was designed with the science classroom in mind. Students should learn COR across the curriculum and this lesson is an example of how science teachers might incorporate COR into their courses.
